Tis' the Season

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas!  It has been really great for me and my little family.  We have had a bit of travel, a few family get togethers and some quiet relax time together.  Food-wise I think it has gone okay.  I have made some better choices than in the past and thinking about my goal has helped me to stick to or get back to my planned Jenny Craig meals.

Having lost the weight I have already done with the help of Jenny Craig definitely made a positive difference in how I enjoyed and celebrated this Christmas.  It felt great to wear a fitted outfit with my favourite winter coat.  I was comfortable and confident.  Being able to wear a smile all day especially when pictures were being taken created a great memory to revisit.

My Jenny Craig appointment was on boxing day but I did not weigh.  I was unsure what the scale would say and didn't want to see an inflated number after have a few meals on my own.  Sometimes higher sodium or water retention can affect the scale.  Either way I am quite happy to be back on my routine and I look forward to seeing what the scale says on New Year's Eve.

All I want for Christmas......

:)  Such a good week. Not a perfect week. But a good week.  I had a birthday party and date night that came up unexpected.  It is great to be able to say with my Jenny Craig experience so far I made choices that were moderate and satisfying! I definitely want to take this week's experience to help me make the same type of positive choices over the Christmas season.

At my Jenny Craig appointment I was thrilled to see 158.0! I had a 3.5lb drop this week!  My current weight loss is 46.9lbs!  I am so close to my 50 pound goal!! Only 3.1lbs to go!  With only 2 weeks until the date I set it will mean keeping my goal in mind all day long.

I am now able to do up my 2 favourite winter coats.  I bet with that next 3.5lbs they will fit comfortably again!  That will be really rewarding to put away my oversized coat and wear the coats I feel great in instead!

This week my Jenny Craig Consultant and I planned out my menu and strategies from now until after Christmas.  I would like to find time to go in on Saturday before any travelling and see where I am at.  This is a great strategy to keep me stuck like glue to my menu until then and it will be motivation to make smart choices while I am away a few days.

A few important tips were shown to me by my consultant that will help me be successful.
  • Planning what I will do, Preparing anything I need and Prempting challenges by having healthy choices or alternatives available.
  • Getting back on track as soon as I can and stay on track where ever I can.  If I keep more focused on finding ways to be successful instead of wanting to take a break when I am this close it will make my goal a reality now instead of at the end of January!
  • In the end if I make healthier choices this Christmas it will have zero negative impact in my life.  Healthy is definitely smart! :)

Friday 13 December 2013

Woohoo! Great week!

I stuck to my Jenny Craig menu 100% this week and it felt fabulous to not have anything planned or unexpected steer me off course!  Fabulous because each day I follow my plan I know I am losing weight and getting one step closer to my goal! :)

At my Jenny Craig appointment I was excited to see a 2.3 lb loss!  It felt great to get such good results!  I am now at 43.4 lbs lost at 25 weeks.  My average is at 1.7 lbs per week.  I have 3 weeks left to my goal of 50 lbs and need to lose 2.2 lbs per week to make the deadline.  It is healthy to lose 1%-1.5% of your body weight weekly.  At my current weight I can healthily lose 1.6 lbs-2.4 lbs weekly.  With my average being at 1.7 lbs per week it will take all that I can to reach this goal by January 1st.  I am determined to do the best that I can and I know the results will follow.

Next week I have no challenges expected.  This means I should be able to stick to my Jenny Craig menu 100% and maximize my results. With Christmas around the corner it will feel great to be losing weight at a time when everyone I know is more concerned with gaining weight with all the challenges the holidays bring.  Already I have lost 2.9lbs in the month of December and I definitely will end the month having lost weight!
Here is a picture from the Christmas party! :)

Christmas Party

The Christmas party was a huge success! Thank goodness I started Jenny Craig when I did!!! I felt great and had a great time.

I am also so thankful for all of the pre-planning I worked through with my Jenny Craig Consultant! My Consultant also made sure I was super focussed and ready to follow through with all those plans. And as it turned out, my food choices went as planned- moderate portion and no second helpings!

Having a chance to get all dressed up and take extra care getting ready was a big treat.  Its moments like that when I really can zone in on where I have lost the weight and much of a difference it has made to my appearance.  At the party the few people I knew really well thought I looked great and really noticed how much weight I have lost.  When others notice it really makes me smile.  I felt so confident the whole night!

This week my weight loss was 0.6lbs.   I was really happy  with my measurements. 9.25 inches lost in 5 weeks.  Overall total loss is at 41.1 lbs and 32.75 inches.
Jenny Craig is teaching me that there are so many other ways to measure my success. Each week that I continue with following through with my Jenny Craig menu plan, I am strengthening my new habits, I am reinforcing my new healthier ways of thinking about food and I am more reassured than ever that it’s not ‘IF’ I reach my goal weight, it’s ‘WHEN’!!

And the plan is still reach 50lbs off by January 1st- New Year’s, here I come! J

Friday 29 November 2013

40.5lbs total!!!

This week was a smaller drop. 0.5lbs. But luckily, my Jenny Craig Consultant was there for me to point out that I have a pattern to my weight loss! And, she also mentioned that it’s completely normal to have a big drop, followed by a smaller drop… only to be followed by another BIG drop. I can’t wait for next week – already! Had my JC Consultant not mentioned this, I might have felt a bit down. But now, I get it and I feel even more motivated to have another awesome week this week!

My Jenny Craig Consultant also said that we will be taking measurements to see where my inches have come off! It’s such a great suggestion – I can’t wait to see and have that confirmation again that this Program is really working!!!

I am starting to fit into some of my early-pregnancy clothes.  It feels really good to start to shop in my own closet.  I have been enjoying look through some of my clothes and thinking to myself, "Soon this will fit!"

With the holidays fast-approaching, my Consultant reassured me that she has plenty of strategies and handouts, nutritional information specific to Christmas goodies, that I will be more than armed to feel in control this whole season! She even mentioned that there will be a collection of handouts and that this month is one of the best to be a member of Jenny Craig because of all their additional support they offer during the holidays!

This week I am going to a work Christmas party.  I am not too concerned over food choices because they usually offer a well rounded meal and there won't be snacks lying about.  It really helped to discuss better drink choices with my consultant.  It is amazing how many favourite drinks can be loaded with tons of calories.  It should be a fun night!

Here's to getting to my goal for New Years!  50lbs!  I know I can do it!

Friday 22 November 2013

Woohoo!!! 40lbs down!!

I did it!!!  What a great feeling!  Being down 40lbs feels fantastic!  I really am starting to feel more like myself.  I take more pride in my appearance and have a much more positive outlook.  Seeing how far I have come from the pictures says it all. Jenny Craig has made a big difference in my appearance, health, energy and mindset.

In my Jenny Craig consultation this week we celebrated hitting the next 10lbs mark and talked about my motivation.  Right now I am motivated by looking into my closet and seeing my favorite clothes that I want to be able to wear again.  I am motivated by my son. I want to be healthy and  a role model of healthy, active living. Lastly I am motivated by these pictures. They show me how far I have come and hint at what will change with just 10 more pounds.

My Jenny Craig Consultant and I looked at where my goals need to be to reach my goal of 50lbs by Dec. 31st.  With 6 weeks to go my weight loss needs to be  1.7lbs weekly.  I know I have my work cut out for me but I really want to make this happen.  It will take commitment to my Jenny Craig menu plan, smart holiday choices and the drive to make it happen now instead of sometime in the New Year.

If you have ever thought about losing weight, come join me and lose 10lbs before Dec 31st. Let’s do this together!

Saturday 16 November 2013

I can't wait until next week!

What a great week!  I stuck to my Jenny Craig menu, including enjoyed one well proportioned meal out with my spouse and went for two walks. Then at my Jenny Craig appointment I weighed in at 166.9lbs!!!!  That means I lost 2.5lbs this week for a total of 38lbs!!

I can't wait until next week!  I am going to be at the 40lbs lost mark.  My Jenny Craig consultant will take another progress picture.  Pictures make it really easy to see the changes I have made with my weight loss.  Sometimes it is the best way to really notice how much of a change has happened.  I will also have new measurements taken.  It has been a great week but next week will be even better! :)

My plan is to stick to my menu and try to get in a few walks (if my little one decides to sleep this week that is!) and the results will follow. It's that simple!

Planning for Success

I am learning about Jenny Craig’s phrase: ‘It’s about progress, not perfection’. Because if you are human, there’ll be mistakes. It’s about how a person reacts to it and gets back on track that really matters. This past weekend with a lot of unexpected company in town, I had a few unplanned meals off of my Jenny menu. With those extras, I had a gain of 0.3lbs. That said, this week’s Jenny Craig consultation is an example of WHY this is such an amazing Program – I am already back on track and I couldn’t have done it without my Jenny Consultant! She helped me learn what options I could do next time, and move on with my week.
I am now focussed forward and ready to lose another 2lbs!!!

I had some really great compliments when we went out with friends.  Some of them had not seen me in a few months and were quite impressed with how much I have lost.  It feels great to have others notice.  I definitely smiled a lot that night.  Thinking about the compliments will help me to keep focused and get to my goal.   Next time I see them I will be at my goal and wearing my favourite outfits again!

This week looks to be a great week!  I feel ready for any unexpected company and I can't wait to step on the Jenny Craig scale and see my next milestone -164.9lbs and 40lbs lost!

Wednesday 30 October 2013

Check that off my list!

Yay!!! 169.1!  It feels great to have hit my mini goal of seeing the 160's!  This week I stuck to my Jenny Craig plan 100% and lost 2.8lbs!!!!  I am down 5.2lbs this month and 35.8lbs total.   My current measurements show a loss of 23.5 inches.

I did get in activity this week.  I went for 3 walks and went to 1 water aerobics class. I felt so much more energized and focused this week. I think the activity really helps my mindset.  I want to try to keep doing some activity each week.

Stats so far --- 35.8lbs in 19 weeks =1.9lbs/week average.
Goal -50lbs for Jan 1st.  14.2lbs in 9weeks.  I need to aim to lose at a rate of 1.6/week.

This means I need to stay strong and focused to get this done.  Nine weeks is not far away and then I can step into the New Year having lost 50lbs!

Next mini goal is getting to the 40lb mark. I can lose the 4.2lbs realistically in 2 or 3 weeks.  So by Nov 12 or 19th I want to be celebrating that goal.

With my Jenny Craig consultant this week I set my goal to see 1.6lbs lost.  I committed to my Jenny Craig menu plan and the same activity as last week to make it happen.  Every little bit counts and I can't wait to start fresh in the new year.  How great it going to feel to be able to wear my favorite outfits again!

Sunday 27 October 2013

Focus- let's see the 160s!!!!

So this week felt like a win. After a really rough week last week I was able to stick to my plan a lot better and when a few events came up I made choices I was really proud of.  This week at my Jenny Craig appointment my weight was 171.9.   Down 0.2 in two weeks. That was definitely not the plan but slip ups are a part of life and it is something to learn from.  I am very happy to have lost weight instead of seeing a gain on the scale. This has put me back 2 weeks but I know I will be able to get going and reach my goal.  Next week I will see the 160s. It will feel so great to be that much closer to where I want to be!

Now I feel back on track and ready to push forward with renewed commitment and focus.  This week I set the goal of being active 3 time.  I have already researched the two walking tracks, gym memberships and classes I would like to attend.  I always feel better when I am active and can't wait to get it started. I feel I will 100% accomplish this goal. :)

The ease of following the Jenny Craig program definitely makes a big difference.  I really don't even had to think about it.  I just look at my menu and get ready the meals as they are listed.  I keep my favorite vegetables, milk and salad dressings in stock.  Typically I eat a variety of  salads, frozen  broccoli/cauliflower, spinach, carrots and tomatoes. It always feels great when I finish my day and see that I have crossed off everything for that day because it means I have basically guaranteed weight loss.  Definitely an easy way to gauge what to expect when I go to my Jenny Craig appointment.

Crash & Refocus

As the title states -this was a rough week.  My son was sick at the end of last week and it kept going on and off for the whole week.  Lack of sleep, stress and emotions way out of whack!   Plus throw in being out of town, hospital visits and Thanksgiving and it just equalled disaster! The lesson is that I NEED to take better care of myself whenever life throws me curve balls because when I do not everything unravels and it makes it really easy not to make the best choices for myself.  This means asking for help if needed or choosing to eat something early to keep my hunger level at bay.

Due to the craziness of the week. I did not look at the scale this week.  I did step on it to be recorded to look back at  next week but I felt it would not motivate me. My Jenny Craig consultant reassured me and helped me refocus for this new week.  It is really important to me to not let this one week really set me back in reaching my goals.  Together we planned a week with focus on my menu, combined with  getting enough rest and water.

Without the support and accountability of Jenny Craig I know it the past I might not have refocused and moved forward. It can be really easy to let one "bad" week wreck a really positive journey.  Having someone that is on my side to help me get back on track really makes the difference. I know I will get back on track and continue on to reach my goals because I am driven and I know if I stumble she will help me get back to where I want to be!

This week I really enjoyed the new Jenny Craig Roasted Turkey Medallions.  Simply a yummy turkey dinner minus all the high calories.  I did not plan to eat any of the leftovers from Thanksgiving so it really helped having this planned in to eat like a leftover meal.  I didn't feel like I was missing out and it actually felt like treat to have a second turkey dinner.

Stepping forward I am now rested and ready to take on my week with a better mindset.   I am so close to getting out of the 170s. It is going to feel awesome!  Once I cross that step I am even closer to my New Years goal of getting down to 155!  Being able to ring in the new year in my choice of the great outfits in my closet will  feel simply AMAZING!  To start off the New Year having lost 50lbs, feeling more confident, comfortable in my own skin and happy with the way that I look is definitely what will make it a great start to a fabulous year!

Meal out and Planning for Thanksgiving

So this week went by pretty good. I planned in a meal on my own with my Jenny Craig consultant and it went great.  I had looked up the nutritional information ahead of time to help me make a better choice.

I have really enjoyed wearing jeans.  They make me feel a lot more put together and really proud of my progress.

I had hoped to get out for activity but it didn't end up happening.  My son is teething. Which means cranky and not sleeping.  I know it wasn't an official plan to do but I still wanted to make time for it. In the end as long as I stick to my Jenny Craig menu plans the weight will keep coming off.  I love how effortlessly it works!

This week my weight was 172.1. Down2.4lbs this week.  33lbs in total. I am really close to getting out of the 170s!

Next week I am going to Edmonton for two days and celebrating Thanksgiving with my family.  I feel prepared to make smart choices and I look forward to seeing family and friends.  My Jenny Craig consultant and I set up a plan with easy travel ready foods and preplanned meal choices to ensure success.  I feel really good about it!

Friday 4 October 2013

New clothes, New food and Lots to look forward to!

This week I went shopping!!! :)  It felt great to buy smaller sizes and get clothes that I feel great in.  I actually bought a pair of jeans and pants. It is such a nice change to be wearing "real" clothes instead of yoga pants every day.  I definitely feel more confident and look forward to getting dressed for the day.  I didn't buy a lot but I think it will be enough to get me to the clothes I have sitting in boxes in my closet.  I have a couple favorite tops that I had bought and wore on my birthday weekend in Jasper that I can't wait to get back into.

This week Jenny Craig has some new foods.  I tried the carrot cake muffin---so yummy!  I can't wait to try more new foods.  The variety makes a big difference and it is great to have some new items to add to my weekly menu.

My Jenny Craig consultant and I talked about activity goals again.  I am finding it so hard now that it is colder I don't see how to get my son to stay bundled up and I am not too sure how my back will handle it.  These are my excuses but it helps to know and see that even when I am not active the weight loss is still happening quite effortlessly.  This week the official plan is to not do anything.  Unofficially- I do plan to get to the multiplex at least once.

I lost 0.4lbs this week.  The scale didn't move much but that is okay. I am starting to get used to having a big drop one week and a small drop the next.  In the end as long as it keeps coming off I am not concerned.  In fact it leaves me excited to see what the scale will show next week at my Jenny Craig appointment.  I am only 4.6lbs from getting out of the 170's and into the 160's.  It will feel fabulous to say goodbye and good riddance to one set of numbers and move forward onto the smaller, healthier numbers!

Friday 27 September 2013

Time to reset goals! :)

This week I was so excited to see that I had lost 3.5lbs!!!! That put me at a total weight loss of 30.2lbs!! I had been feeling great and especially "skinny" lately. The scale was just the icing on the cake so to speak.

I can definitely say I don't really recognize the person in my first photo.  I am much more confident and comfortable as I have lost the weight.  I am really happy with my progress and appreciate how much more flattering my curves are becoming.  I have gotten rid of some clothes and gone shopping in my clothes in my closet. It feels great to fit into smaller sizes and old favorites!

In my appointment this week my Jenny Craig consultant had me look at my new picture and shade in where I wanted to see the results as I continue to lose weight.  I want to see a more defined waistline, thinner profile and more toned arms.  All goals are perfectly do-able. It will just take time.  It helps
to look at the image I want to see and work towards.

When I look at my weeks on Jenny Craig it really only adds up to 14 weeks plus a couple off for vacation.  14 weeks= 30.2lbs lost= 2.2lbs/week average.

Now it is time to reset my goal.  There are 14 weeks until New Years. I would like to lose another 20lbs.  My average needs to be 1.4lbs/week.  This is very achievable with how it has already been going for me.  I know I will still need to stay dedicated and committed to my goals or obviously it won't happen.  With the support of my Jenny Craig consultant and the accountability of blogging about my weight loss journey I am confident I will get to my goal.

Getting back to Routine

This week it really helped to have the convenience of my Jenny Craig meals while getting back to routine with my son.  With company and family time over the past 1.5 months we were really out of sync and off of our typical home routine.  On top of it -add in a bit of teething and it equaled some sleepless nights.  At times it was really rough but I simply had to heat up my meal and have a ready made salad/veggie tray handy to keep my healthy goals in focus.

My Jenny Craig weigh in didn't go as good as I had hoped.  I lost 0.5 this week.  Now as much as I wanted more I really do understand that having a bigger drop last week did set me up to have this happen.  The biggest thing is keeping consistent and sticking to my plan -it works and it will continue to do so as long as I commit myself to get the results.

With my back out of sorts I am being really careful with how I pick up my son and what I do around the house.  I definitely miss my long walks and can't wait to get back to them but I need to take the time I need to get better first.  This week I planned with my Jenny Craig consultant to aim for 4 fifteen minute walks. This way I start taking the steps towards my goal of getting back to daily 45-60 minute walks.

Here's to having a great week this week!

Company and Celebrations!

I am definitely feeling a lot better this week! My back is still sore but I have been told it may take awhile for it to get all the way back to normal.

This week I had my grandmother visiting and helping me with Zach. It was so nice to have company and help. For some it may be a concern to have company and stick to a meal plan but for me it was very easy!! My grandma is so supportive of the Jenny Craig program and she is quite okay with me doing a different meal than her. She even tried a few meals and was surprised at how good it was! She found my Jenny Craig meals looked just like any typical meal she would prepare and she thought it great that there were so many different choices.

This week I have tried to keep busy but I have not been up for adding walks in just yet. That will be this weeks plan!

Big celebrations in this week’s Jenny Craig appointment --The 1st= I am in the 170`s!!!! 178.8lbs. I lost 3.2lbs this week!! Total weight loss 26.1 lbs! The 2nd -I have 3.9lbs to go to be at my next 10lbs goal! I feel great and can’t wait to get there! Every pound lost makes a difference and I am looking forward to each new step in the right direction!

As I lose this weight, I know I am also going to keep it off because I am learning a new way of thinking about food - its a new lease on life!!!!

Expect thg Unexpected

This week, as the title states, did not go as I expected it to.  After getting back from holidays I had a long list of "To Dos".  I was getting it checked off and feeling great about everything (life, energy, accomplishment, being a mom, sticking to my Jenny Craig menu) until the unexpected happened. I threw out my back!  Thank goodness my mom and many extended family members live close.  They really did help me out -especially with my active little guy who I could barely lift!

Long story short - I was out of town longer than expected due to needing help with my son and was not able to stick to my menu or do any activity. :(

I was expecting a gain on the scale but was very happy to see that I lost 1.2 lbs.   I know there were a few days I was able to stick to my Jenny Craig menu and I did feel good about the choices I made when not able to follow.  I used the habits I have been creating through the Jenny Craig program- eating first thing in the morning, eating every 2-3 hours, half my plate vegetables, smaller portions, not having dessert with a meal and many more.

Current weight 182.0lbs.  Total 22.9lbs lost!!

My Jenny Craig consultant was very supportive when I discussed how my week had went.  We celebrated the positives and set up a plan for my next week. This week we completed my appointment over the phone.  It worked the best for me with my back still having issues.  I weighed in when I went it to pick up my groceries.  For the next few weeks this might be the best plan for me or I may change my appointments to the evening when my spouse is home.

Now I am feeling much better!  I am home and ready to really stick to my Jenny Craig menu to see optimal results!  Activity will still be limited but with focus on stretching and not sitting for long periods of time I hope to feel like myself again soon!

I can`t wait to see the 170`s!!!!  It could be as early as next week!! Here`s to having a great week and feeling better!  I am so happy I didn`t wait until the end of summer to start!  I have had a great summer and jumpstarted my weight loss journey!  Call Jenny Craig today and get started!

Holiday Challenges Week 2 and Now back to Routine

Now I know anyone coming back from a vacation can relate to how I felt when it was time to see what my weight would be after it was all over.  I was quite happy with alot of my choices but definitly had a few moments of what-was-I-thinking and a few more "treats" than usual.  On my second week I was very busy going from place to place and it didn't work to add in the daily activity I had wanted to do or have as many carefully pre-planned out meal choices.  Knowing where I planned to be when I got back and having my appointment with my Jenny Craig consultant pre-booked helped alot.  I kept in mind the portions from my Jenny Craig meals and had vegetables at any meal I could.

A few days before my appointment my Jenny Craig consultant called to see how I was doing and reassured me that if I didn't want to step on the scale that it would be okay. That was good to know.  I can imagine in the past I would not have wanted to even consider stepping on a scale after a vacation.  I thought it over and decided to just go for it.  The scale read 183.4. I had lost 1.5lbs!!!  In the past, without the positive mindset and accountability, I know I have gained 5 or more pounds on a holiday and even more over a summer. This was an incredible win!  This week I get to continue on my weightloss journey with Jenny Craig instead of re-losing weight that was gained.  What a great start to September!!

I see that there are many reading my blog and I hope it is helping to inspire.  I know losing weight is not easy but with Jenny it makes it alot easier!  Call Jenny today and join me in my journey! 780-402-9807

Holiday Challenges week 1

So  far it has gone really well while out of town.  I have been staying with family and they are very supportive with my weight loss plan. Having lots of veggies available with every meal has really helped.  Plus staying in to eat versus eating out has allowed me to either eat my Jenny Craig meal as planned or have a sensible portion. A big win for me was not having any dessert with my meal.  If I really wanted a portion I knew I could save it and have it for my evening snack but by then I wanted my Jenny Craig cheese curls or bruschetta chips instead. With adding in walks my effort and choices have paid off!  On the scale here I lost 3lbs.

I had a great phone consultation with my Jenny Craig consultant.  She helped me setup my plan for the rest of my trip and gave me good tips to use when eating out.  It really helped me to focus on my goals and it felt good to talk to someone who really understood the challenges I was having.

I know the next leg of my journey will be abit more challenging but I hope my jumpstart will help keep the monentum going.  We are off to visit more family and friends in Manitoba.  I think we will have more eating out so it will be especially important to make careful choices and fit in my Jenny Craig meals whenever possible to offset and create a balance. I hope with adding in walks I will be able to at least maintain where I am at to still see a net weightloss for my holidays. I would rather be sensible and practice healthy choices instead of creating more work for myself.

And the Results are in!

I was nervous to see the scale this week. After a big drop last week and a typical eventful short week I had no idea what to expect. 184.9lbs!!! I am down 1.9lbs this week!!!! In only 10 weeks 20.2lbs and 15.5 inches are gone!!! Such a perfect way to end off before holidays!

Surprisingly I don’t even feel like I’ve been trying - the Jenny Craig food has been so easy and tastes great! My favorites are the red velvet cupcakes, parmesan pollock, chicken sandwich and florentine breakfast pizzas. Losing weight with the Jenny Craig menus and the support of my Jenny Craig consultant is going so well which is why I am definitely going to keep going. I know as soon as I am faced with a challenge that isn’t part of my routine, my consultant will continue to be there for the rescue!!!

I am off on holidays for the next 2.5 weeks. I will blog when I get a chance. I am planning to have phone consultations while I am away to help keep my goals in mind and keep me motivated!

I am so close!!!!!

Wow what a great week!!! I walked 5x, had a meal out with family and stuck to my Jenny Craig plan. At first sticking to it seemed a bit challenging after not seeing the scale change much last week but with the support of my Jenny Craig consultant explaining that it was a normal reaction by my body and wanting to see (and FEEL) my next milestone I kept at it! When I stepped on the scale this week I wasn’t sure what to expect but was thrilled to not only see the 180s but also got past the weight I was at right after Zach was born. My new number is 186.6lbs!!!! I lost 3.4lbs this week!!! Total is 18.3lbs!!! It seems my body has a new pattern of having bigger drops one week and smaller the next.

Here is the crunch time -I leave for holidays on Aug 7th and I would love be at my next milestone. This means I have 1.7lbs to lose in 5 days. My Jenny Craig consultant and I discussed the ways in which I can maximize weight loss to get the results I am looking for. Step 1-stick to my Jenny Craig menu as closely as possible.

Step 2- daily activity ---if possible increase/change to challenge my body more

Step 3- get in plenty of water and rest

As I start packing for holidays I am pretty excited to be able to wear some clothes that didn’t fit in June. They say 10lbs is a dress size and so I am almost down 2 dress sizes!!! It feels great to get into smaller sizes and have so much more energy! Now I know my end goal is not going to be at 20lbs but when I get to this goal it will feel very rewarding. 20lbs is a big deal and if I can do it anyone can! Call Jenny Craig today and join me in my journey!

Camping, Walking and the Scale

Let’s start with the positives-
Camping went awesome! My planned Jenny Craig menu fit in easily! No one really noticed I was doing anything different. It felt great to stick to my plan!
This week my Jenny Craig consultant and I talked about making walking a priority. I was able to do 6 walks! It felt great! It definitely it gave me a boost in energy and mood to just get out so often!!! I want to keep it up!

In the end this week I was a bit disappointed. I had a great week following my plan despite challenges and increased my activity but the scale did not show my effort. I lost 0.4lbs =190.0, total weight loss of 14.9lbs. Now I do know that last weeks 2.9lb drop was a big loss and sometimes the body balances out with a smaller drop the next week. Even though I knew this it was still not what I wanted to see.

My Jenny Craig consultant was great and helped encourage me to keep doing what I am doing and the results will follow. We celebrated that it has been 8 weeks and I have lost weight each and every week. That is really motivating! I am ready for a new week with my healthy and active lifestyle. I know I can do it!!

I can’t wait to reach my next milestone - another 10lbs!!! I know it is right around the corner and I hope to share it with everyone soon!!!

Great week and can't wait to see Next week!!!

Okay well this week had its own challenges -24hr flu, 4month immunizations and company over the weekend -but with my plans all set out with my Jenny Craig consultant I made it through and feel successful!!!

This week I weigh 190.4!! So close to being out of the 190s! I am can’t wait to see the 180s next week!!!! I lost 2.9lbs in 8days. It was so great to see such a good drop when it was a challenging week. My total weight loss is now 14.5lbs and it is so close to my first goal of 20lbs! I am really starting to feel it! I feel so much more energy, my clothes are fitting looser and it is easier to move around with my little one!

I did get in 2 good walks and 1 short walk this week. I think they do help make a difference in my results and how I feel. I hope to get in more walks this week now that I am finding a routine.

In my Jenny Craig consultation this week my consultant and I made special plans for my camping trip this weekend. I made sure to have my favourite meals that will be good over the fire and salty snacks to curb any snack cravings. I feel prepared for it and am determined to see the 180s next week and my 20lbs goal in 3 weeks! I know I can do it!

Time to get Creative!

This week has been really tough with my little one still not sleeping great. That means I didn’t sleep great. Whenever my sleep is lacking I am hungrier throughout the day --my Jenny Craig Consultant explained that it is my body’s way of trying to keep me alert or get energy.
What really helped was getting creative with my veggie sides with all my meals. My Jenny Craig consultant has worked with me on creative meal ideas to help. She had reminded me that half of my plate should be vegetables which I have read in many sources in the past. So I steamed, sautéed, cut up, ate raw, mixed in with my meal and made salads. I find that the more that I vary my choices the more appealing my veggie sides are. Plus it much more fun to be creative versus eating the same thing day after day. It also helps that the Jenny Craig menus don’t repeat any foods through the week. Everyday is different and not as boring as the easy go to choices or leftovers I used to end up eating regularly.

I lost 1.3lbs in 6days. My new total is 11.6lbs! J My goal is to be at my Goal of 20lbs lost by the beginning of August! To help boost results I am gonna try to get out and walk this week!

Down 10lbs and feeling great!

Woohoo!!!! 5 weeks on Jenny Craig and I am at 194.6lbs= down 10.3lbs and 4.5 inches! I am feeling more energetic and definitely feel a bit smaller! Yay!

Last week I am most proud about sticking to my menu as planned with my consultant. I didn’t have any challenges or plans to start the week but two came up unexpectedly. First challenge was when I was to spend the day at a friends house. I just decided to pack everything I needed for the day and was able to stick to my Jenny Craig plan. My friend is very supportive and it was easy to do. The next challenge was a movie night. That was tricky! Right away I knew I didn’t want to have the popcorn if I could help it because it is not good for you and so high in fats and calories. To make it easier to get through it I had a late supper with lots of veggies so wasn’t hungry when I went and I reminded myself that I really wanted to see the 10lbs result this week. In the end I wasn’t even tempted and even brought home popcorn for my partner. Discussing and setting my weight loss goals with my Jenny Craig consultant really made a difference this week. I knew I really wanted to get to 10lbs this week and not put it off to happen 1 or 2 weeks later. It would have been easy to give in to temptation if I didn’t feel so motivated!

I am halfway to my first goal already and feel fabulous! I can’t wait to get out of the 190’s! Only 2-3 weeks of dedicating myself and I will be there! This is so easy!

Tuesday 25 June 2013

Hi my name is Amelia. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on March 17th. It has been a whirlwind of life and a huge learning curve as a new mom. I still had 32.5 extra pounds on me after having my baby. Not cool but that was expected. Gaining 17 more pounds due to stress when Zach was 4-6weeks old and in the Edmonton Stollery was definitely not expected. I had found myself eating breakfast at 11am even though I was up at 6am, eating random bags of easy snack food and on my one good meal a day did not find any time to add any vegetables. Feeling hectic about it all and knowing I wanted to lose my baby weight healthily and as soon as possible I gave Jenny Craig a call. I was able to (and wanted to) start right away! On May 26th my weight was 204.9lbs. It is a lot higher than I expected it to be. I am not sure where it all came from -baby weight? baby surgery stress weight? poor eating? Either way it was time to get back to me.

These are my Jenny Craig start weight pictures. Definitly would of done retakes if I saw the expression on my face but it does show that I am unhappy/uncomfortable with where I am at.  The good thing is that every picture after this will be better and it will feel good to look back and see the difference!

My goal is 20lbs. I find it overwhelming to set my goal at my pre-baby weight but I definitely want to keep going after 20. Besides this way I can celebrate and feel great about hitting my goals along the way.

So far I can say the Jenny Craig menus have been just what I needed! I have been eating so much healthier right from the start. It lays out a plan to incorporate vegetables, fruits, milk and fat servings. Some of those I had not really added to my day for weeks! The menu has been so easy to follow and I can proudly say I have been eating within half an hour of getting up and eating every 2-3 hours over my day! I feel so much better about what I am putting in my body and now find time to add veggies to my meals.

It will be 4 weeks tomorrow. I feel good about my progress so far. I am glad I gave Jenny Craig a call and I look forward to seeing where my weight and measurements are at. I will update soon!
